Transformance Launches Online Workshop Video Series

A new year, a new view.

One of the easiest ways Transformance Outreach Coaches and clients connect is online, usually via regularly scheduled financial education webinars. These online learning sessions provided viewers crucial financial knowledge and best practices on an array of topics: basic budgeting, understanding credit scores or preparing to buy a new home. But clients occasionally reported challenges with the technology and webinar availability.

So in late 2016, Transformance began to archive its webinars and record new lessons for an online workshop video repository. Taking advantage of digital resources like YouTube, the nonprofit agency is now able to offer its content in a single location, accessible 24/7.

“With our newest evolution in online learning, Transformance is once again taking steps to meet clients where they live,” said Neil Israel, Director of Learning and Development. “Moving from live, scheduled webinars to recorded, online workshops represents a major shift for Transformance. Our webinars were previously confined to traditional business hours and a limited number of monthly plays. Today, clients, potential clients and interested community members can view selections like ‘Introduction to Bankruptcy’ and ‘Money Basics’ at their leisure and on their schedule.”

The Online Workshop Video series is designed to be viewed and shared by anyone online. Clients enrolled in the AIM program may also earn monthly touchpoint credit by viewing a video and completing the corresponding validation survey. Agency leaders are excited to see how this new format will support ever-changing client needs.

“At Transformance, we strive to uncover new ways to use technology to enhance the client experience and better serve out our mission,” said Yolanda Perez, the agency’s EVP and COO. “In 2016, we introduced Pocket Change USA, a smartphone app that literally put financial learning in the hands of our clients. This year, we’re adding a new educational component – the online workshop videos – that will be available 24/7. As we expand our content, we’re confident these short lessons will reinforce the work we do as well as provide needed answers to the financial questions common in our community.”

Each video, narrated by a certified Outreach Coach, is between 10 and 25 minutes long. The 26 video topics include:

  • Bankruptcy

  • Budgeting

  • Credit

  • Foreclosure

  • Housing

  • Identity Theft

  • Money Management

  • Payday loans

  • Reverse Mortgages

Israel said the agency will continue to add new content videos as well as Spanish language versions of current content in the coming months.
